Apr 24, 2026"I don‘t even know where to start. I was visiting my in-laws for the first time here on Murter (they are locals and regulars at Mate‘s).. The restaurant is family owned and driven, you can feel that within every inch of it. The friendliness and welcoming by the owners have you feel like home. The food couldn‘t be more authentic, local and delicious. We started off with the fish tartare and the homemade (fresh made à la minute‘) breads. I myself dont like to eat fish in public cause of the ‚mess‘ I am creating, but Mate offers the best solution if you‘re a fish lover: Moliće! Open them by hand, take out the fish bone in one steady pull and you‘re good to eat. They are delicious and come along potatoes and chard. Finishing off with the famous Palatschinka.. I was overwhelmed by the hospitality, authenticity and friendliness. Make sure you have a reservation and enjoy! I will be back for sure :)"
